Meals Needed for Local Youth
Midcoast Community Alliance is a grassroots community coalition dedicated to preventing youth suicide in Sagadahoc County, Brunswick & Harpswell. We provide weekday after-school programs and activities for youth at the Bath Skatepark, which foster positive youth development through leadership and mentoring.
In 2019, we have served 480 youth, ages 5 to 24, through youth leadership programs, scooter clubs, cooking & art classes, homework help, summer math programs, music, and a safe place to be during after-school & summer hours.
Many of these young people are with us every day from 2pm to 8pm. We are seeking businesses, organizations, church groups and community volunteers who could help ensure these students have access to nutritious meals during that time.
We have begun a “Meal Train” program that will allow volunteers to sign up and donate a meal on a specific day(s). Alternatively, financial contributions or gift cards to local restaurants and grocery stores are greatly appreciated!
